The Model

Awareness

Acceptance

Gratitude

Love

First, establish what these words really mean to you. Re-cog-nize emerged on the premise that we must recognize that “it all starts with awareness”. Many people struggle with getting to a place of self-love because they are not yet aware of who they are. The next phase is developing discernment when staying authentic and true to ourselves about the factors we choose to accept or wish to change about ourselves. Oftentimes we carry the essence of rejection of self when acceptance is low or when we feel restricted from change. Low acceptance leads to resistance in mind, body, and spirit and will present as a negative projection and thus negative reception of the world around us.

Once we develop discernment, our reactions to awareness and acceptance become routine and we can better face new opportunities or (the daunting unknown - depending on current calibration) when they come our way; gratitude in most things becomes effortless. We begin to humbly smile when self-awareness and acceptance help us to see the little things we either did not understand or took for granted in the past. Then, inevitably, love follows. Love is not restricted to romance or even just relationships; but the best love that will occur is self-love. To love oneself, is to know oneself, to accept oneself, and exercise gratitude in as many facets of life as possible. Ego is quieter there, thoughts and actions more wholesome, and our light shines that much brighter as we begin to align with purpose.
